What Works?
The Dolce Gusto Circolo is a very modern looking machine with an oval shape, that comes in a luxurious red colour. Designed with a bigger tank than its predecessor, it means you’ll be making less trips to the sink, which helps especially for a small office environment. Performance wise, this machine has a 15 bar pump system, which doesn’t disappoint, even when under a bit of strain from multiple uses over the short space of time. If you’re looking for a machine that takes capsule and gives you a wide variety of beverage choices at the push of a button, this is the machine for you.
What Doesn’t?
On the other side of the spectrum, it was clear that this machine isn’t necessarily the most quiet machine on the market, even though it does come it at a higher price point than some of its competitors. This was slightly disappointing, albeit that the machine is quick to produce drinks, meaning it won’t be as disruptive, especially if it’s only being used a few times a day. One thing we noticed was that when you use a taller glass or cup, the machine can spill just a little bit. Be sure to run a few tests using different capsules to ensure that you’re using the correct size cups in future. Slightly more expensive than its cousin, the Genio, this machine is a great fit for casual coffee drinkers, but may leave some more serious brewers slightly underwhelmed.
